Those who opt for Medicare Advantage simply pay a monthly fee for these comprehensive services.

đŸ›ī¸ Medicare Part D Shopping Tips - You may enter up to five pharmacies you would use, along with your precise prescription drug information including name and dosage amount, so you can get an accurate picture of what plans would best fit your needs.

    • Part A: Hospital insurance (inpatient care, skilled nursing, hospice).

    • Part B: Medical insurance (doctor visits, outpatient care, lab work, preventive services).

    • Part C: Medicare Advantage plans offered by private insurance companies.

    • Part D: Prescription drug coverage.

    • Medigap: Supplemental insurance that helps pay deductibles, copays, and coinsurance.

  • Yes, unless you have other creditable drug coverage. If you don’t sign up, Medicare imposes a late-enrollment penalty later when you do sign up. Most people enroll to avoid that penalty.

    • Initial Enrollment Period: 7-month window around your 65th birthday.

    • Annual Enrollment Period (AEP): Oct 15 – Dec 7 each year (for Advantage and Part D changes).

    • Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment: Jan 1 – Mar 31 (switch or drop MA plans).

    • Special Enrollment Periods (SEP): Triggered by certain life events like moving or losing employer coverage.

    • Routine dental, vision, and hearing (unless in a Medicare Advantage plan)

    • Long-term custodial care

    • Most routine foot care

    • Cosmetic procedures

    • Foreign travel (limited exceptions)

  • Medicare annual enrollment periods run from October 15th through December 7th each year.
