 FAQs

  • Coverage varies by policy but common types include:

    • Liability coverage — pays for damage or injury you cause to others.

    • Collision coverage — covers damage to your vehicle from a crash.

    • Comprehensive coverage — covers non-collision damage (theft, fire, vandalism, etc).

    • Uninsured/Underinsured motorist coverage — protects you if the other driver has little or no insurance.

    • Plus optional add-ons: rental reimbursement, roadside assistance, etc.

  • Liability insurance helps pay for injuries or property damage you cause to others in a covered accident.

  • Many factors: your driving record, age, where you live, the make/model of your vehicle, how much you drive, your coverage limits/deductible, and discounts you qualify for.

  • Sometimes, yes. Some policies cover “permissive drivers” (someone you’ve allowed to drive your car). But coverage may differ if the driver is excluded, uses the car for commercial purposes (like rideshare), or if your policy has special restrictions.

  • If your liability coverage ends, you risk fines, license/registration suspension, or being uninsured (which means you could be personally liable for damages).

  • We have personal auto plans available in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Illinois, Georgia and Florida.

  • We offer plans with Travelers, Progressive, National General, Geico, Bristol West and Embark (carrier availability can vary by state).

  • Comprehensive coverage helps protect your vehicle from non-collision losses such as theft, vandalism, fire, falling objects, hail, flood, and animal strikes.

  • Collision coverage helps pay to repair or replace your vehicle if it is damaged in an accident involving another vehicle or object, regardless of fault.

  • This coverage may help pay for injuries and certain damages if you're involved in an accident with a driver who has no insurance or insufficient insurance.

  • No. Our services are included in the premium charged by the carrier you choose for coverage.

  • "Full coverage" typically refers to a policy that includes liability, collision, and comprehensive insurance, along with any optional coverages selected by the driver.

  • You may be able to lower your premium by maintaining a clean driving record, bundling policies, increasing deductibles, qualifying for discounts, and comparing quotes from multiple insurance companies.

  • Your auto policy typically covers your rental car like you’re driving your own vehicle, with the exception of loss of use coverage, which is not part of your auto insurance plan, and is the primary reason to purchase the insurance your rental car company is offering. Loss of use covers the loss of income the rental car company absorbs while your rental car is being repaired or replaced due to an accident you were in while renting it.

  • Rental reimbursement coverage may help pay for a rental vehicle while your car is being repaired after a covered claim.

  • Roadside assistance can provide help for common issues such as flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and fuel delivery.

  • Many comprehensive insurance policies cover windshield repair or replacement, subject to policy terms and deductibles.

  • In most cases, damage resulting from hitting a deer or other animal is covered under comprehensive coverage.

  • If your vehicle is declared a total loss after a covered claim, your insurer may pay its actual cash value, less any applicable deductible.

  • Gap insurance can help pay the difference between what you owe on your vehicle loan or lease and the vehicle's actual cash value if it is declared a total loss.

  • Limited Tort can reduce premiums but may limit your ability to recover certain damages after an accident. Full Tort provides broader legal rights but generally costs more.

  • Yes. Teen drivers can be added to a parent's policy, although rates may increase due to their limited driving experience.

  • Many insurance companies offer discounts when you bundle auto insurance with homeowners, renters, condo, or other personal insurance policies.

  • If you’ve purchased comprehensive coverage for your vehicle, that should cover hail damage in a covered loss scenario.

  • Insurance coverage follows the car, and accidents and violations follow the driver.

  • It depends. If they are listed as a covered driver, there will be coverage. If they are not listed, it depends on the carrier rules as to whether that occasional use is permitted. If an excluded driver drives your vehicle and causes a loss, the carrier will typically not cover the loss.

  • Yes, although your options will be more limited and your pricing will most certainly be higher at least until the accidents or violations pass a certain number of years.

  • Yes. While bad credit doesn’t help reduce your price of insurance, you can generally purchase coverage with most carriers.

  • Yes, as long as you carry comprehensive coverage on the vehicle affected by the flood damage at the time of the loss, coverage should be available in most cases.

  • It depends what the increase on the deductible is vs. what the carrier is discounting your plan by to take on that higher financial responsibility.
